Job Summary

Crowe Horwath is adding an Accounting Analyst to support the Accounting and Finance office for our high-profile client engagement in Sacramento, CA. This position requires knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, governmental accounting and budgeting, uniform accounting system and financial organization and procedures for the state of California. This position will report directly to the Senior Financial Reporting Manager.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Apply principals of business management, public finance, capital assets and business law
  • Provide knowledge on accounting systems and reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of clear, complete and concise reports required by Senior Management
  • Monitor and perform analysis of funding requirements for multiple program elements, ensuring compliance with provisions, regulations and guidelines
  • Analyze data and draw sound conclusions to adopt an effective course of action
  • Identify potential deficiencies and communicate them to management
  • Prepare monthly fiscal reports for management, identifying budgetary status and concerns and providing an analysis and recommendations to management

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 to 5 years' accounting analysis and reporting experience
  • California public sector experience
  • FI$Cal (PeopleSoft) desired
  • Experience with capital assets and infrastructure
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience developing budget forecasts and models, including scheduling
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to solve problems
  • Ability to identify and document solutions to complex problems with accuracy
  • Extremely detail oriented and organized
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • An aptitude for learning and working with technology
